About the UniLOA: uniloa logoThe UniLOA is designed to measure college student growth, learning, and development (GLD). GLD outcomes are of great interest to student affairs, academic affairs, and fraternity/sorority professionals as it helps them better understand the impact of the student experience. As a diagnostic tool, the UniLOA is a 'dashboard indicator' of student GLD, and as a prescriptive tool, it provides a rich base of data that can inform the development of supports, services, interventions, and programs at the local and national levels. The UniLOA's items are constructed on a foundation of material collected through education and developmental research literature, focus groups, individual structured interviews, web-based surveys, liberal arts and general education outcomes, and developmental theory. Each domain of the UniLOA is considered critical to holistic GLD and includes the areas of:
  • Critical Thinking
  • Self-Awareness
  • Communication
  • Diversity
Citizenship
  • Membership & Leadership
  • Relationships
Phi Kappa Theta will use the UniLOA’s aggregate results to assist in planning and programming at the national level and individual chapters will be provided local results as well to assist them in addressing issues unique to them. In addition, each member completing the UniLOA will be provided a customized report of his own results contrasted to national average scores to assist in the development of a personal plan of action aimed at improving his own individual college experience.
