Phi Kappa Theta's Risk Management Certification Procedure

Managing Risk

Controlling Liability

Risk Management involves every member of our fraternity. From his first day as an Associate Member throughout his entire undergraduate membership, and continuing as an involved alumnus, every responsible Phi Kap Brother needs to help the fraternity and its Brothers avoid serious physical and legal harm.

Phi Kappa Theta's Undergraduate Advisory Committee has established educational standards, spelled out in our National ByLaws, for ensuring that our members are fully trained on the responsible consumption and service of alcohol as well as the consequences of its use. Ten percent of our members must have current CPR certifications, and key officers must have legal liability training. The By-Laws require the UGAC to conduct an annual review of each chapter to ensure compliance with these standards. Preparing for this review is the responsibility of the Chapter President and the Chapter Risk Manager, but action is required on the part of every member. Certain actions must be taken throughout the year to ensure that your chapter will be ready at the time of the review.

Click here to learn more about the year-round requirements and to prepare the forms you need to submit when the review is due.
