Achieve 2013 Update

Step 2 Goals and Assessment deadline extended

PKT CrestOur goal is to develop an Achieve Program that allows our chapters to reach their maximum potential. To achieve this, we will continue to have to make adjustments and improvements to the Program. One of these adjustments we are making effective immediately, is resetting the deadline for the Step 2: Goal Setting and Action Planning from December 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013. This adjustment came out of the discussions held by our Undergraduate Advisory Committee. The UGAC recognized that the majority of our chapters’ leadership turns over during the month of November, and that a December 1 deadline did not give the new chapter leaders the opportunity to set goals for their terms effectively.

We were very excited with the level of engagement our collegiate chapters have had with Phi Kappa Theta’s Achieve Program for the 2013 academic year. To date, 35 of our collegiate chapters and 2 of our colony chapters have reported Step 1: Prioritizing and Assessment. This step focused on identifying the chapter’s current success with the various categories of development. Additionally, Step 1 allowed each chapter to prioritize which developmental categories the chapter will focus on for the rest of the 2012-2013 academic year.

By moving the target date for submission of Step 2 from December 1 to January 31, we are hoping we will continue to get a high level of participation from our chapters.
