New Officers? New Goals?
Date/Time: November 15, 2023 at 8:00 PM Eastern
Staff Liaison: Stephan Oechsle
For many of us, the nomination and election of new officers is about to begin. Whether you elect in November/December or April/May, the need to plan accordingly for the successful transfer of responsibility across officers is high for chapters to be successful.
Additionally, this is a good time to engage in Quo Vadis and plan for the future. In this month’s Konnect Forum, we will look at this challenge and offer attendees strategies for a good transition and to develop plans for success.
Participants will be invited to share their own ideas as well to contribute to the body of knowledge we have as alumni and undergraduate members.

Understanding Phi Kappa Theta Finances
At this year's convention, it was clear that more information on the operations of the national organization, including our finances would be helpful. Last month we talked about our governance and management model. This month we will cover finances.
Members pay fees to receive the services of membership and so much more. In this webinar, we will talk about why we charge what we charge, where the money goes, the state of finances post-pandemic, as well as our plans for enhanced financial sustainability. You will hear from Dan Bureau, National President, and other members of our team as we cover the dollars and cents of running Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity.
The five takeaways:
1. Know where your money goes: what are the general expenses of the national Fraternity?
2. Know why we choose or are required to spend money as we do.
3. Understand the way we come up with your national dues amount annually and how that amount has trended over time.
4. Understand the decision process we use in this post-pandemic, but still challenging time to staff and manage the Fraternity with the limited funds we have.
5. Learn about plans for future sustainability of our budget including how we will invest chapters in ensuring dues and costs stay as low as possible.
