The Passing of Brother Erwin Schweigardt

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the passing of adviser and friend, Rev. Erwin H. Schweigardt, PhD (RPI, '84). Father Schweigardt has been been fighting gallbladder cancer for several months. Complications developed this week, and yesterday he suffered a stroke, which took his life. Affectionately known as "Pops," Erwin served as a guiding force for the brotherhood as a whole and touched the lives of many individuals, both inside and outside of Phi Kappa Theta. He lived his life to serve God and to help others, and he will be missed greatly. Please keep him in your thoughts. For those who wish to attend services, the information is below.

Wake: Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady, NY 4-7pm, (Mass at 7)

Funeral: Friday at St. John’s at 11am. Luncheon after funeral and burial at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.

For his birthday this year, Pops asked for donations be made to Safe Inc. of Schenectady, an organization with the goal of ending youth homelessness, or a non-profit cancer organization.

The Phi Kappa Theta Foundation has Elected Kevin McCarroll as Foundation Treasurer

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA | Jan 30, 2018 – The Phi Kappa Theta Foundation is pleased to announce Brother Kevin McCarroll (Pennsylvania State University, ‘96) has been elected as Board Treasurer. The appointment was unanimously approved during the Foundation Meeting on January 28.

Brother McCarroll graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and has an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University. He has been a business leader for over 18 years for various Fortune 100 companies. Kevin previously provided organizational leadership for the Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE: RAD), Pep Boys (NYSE: PBY) and other publicly traded companies. McCarroll is self-employed as a data scientist in the fields of retail and consumer products. A Re-Founding Father of the Pennsylvania Beta Gamma chapter at Penn State, Kevin is also a past president of the Chapter’s Housing Corporation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for PA Beta Gamma’s Alumni Board, as well as his local church. Kevin resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with his wife Angela and enjoys golf, gardening and watching sports.
